Dr. Dowdy

Doctor Dowdy is a friendly and dedicated general and cosmetic dentist based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Dr. Dowdy pursued his undergraduate career at the University of South Carolina- Aiken and in 1999 graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina in 2003.  In 2010, Dr. Dowdy earned a fellowship from the Misch International Implant Institute to gain his certification in Implant Surgery. Dr. Dowdy has been practicing dentistry in Horry County for the past 19 years. 

Dr. Dowdy makes every effort to stay on top of current developments in dentistry. To that end, he maintains the highest levels of accreditation and takes advantage of ongoing education in both general and cosmetic dentistry. He is a current member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, and the National Implant Dental Society. 

His scope of dental expertise encompasses such procedures as dental implants, tooth extractions, root canals, restorative crown and bridge treatments, removable dentures, Invisalign, and teeth whitening. 

Dr. Dowdy is dedicated to getting to know each patient he treats because he believes that’s the best way to ensure patients get the highest level of care they deserve. Outside of the office, Dr. Dowdy enjoys spending time his wife and their 6 children. He can usually be found in the stands or in the audience cheering for one of his children’s teams most evenings.  He’s an avid college football fan and loves to watch events with his dad.
